Abstract
Authors must include an abstract with every article submission. Because of the newly extended use of the ACM Digital Library and the need to have accurate information for search engines, abstracts should be lucid and concise, highlighting the essential points of the article and should be fifty to one hundred words in length. (The length of this illustration, including this sentence, is sixty-four words.)

Please supply between three and five keywords related to your article. Choose these words carefully as they become necessary for digital libraries and search engines.
 
 
1.  INTRODUCTION
These guidelines serve as a model for the manner in which you are to make submissions to inroads. They describe the mode, format, and layout of materials as the Editor-in-Chief should receive them. Please be sure to submit material according to these specifications. The ACM has entered a new phase - the electronic phase - in which it is publishing. For this reason, and for practical editorial reasons, authors must make all submissions to inroads according to the guidelines specified below.
 
 
2.  DOCUMENT LAYOUT
Documents must conform to the following specifications.
 
2.1 Fonts
The Title of the document must be in 16-point bold Arial or Helvetica. The total length of a title should be less than ten words.  The Name(s) of author(s) is(are) in 12-point bold Arial or Helvetica.  Author information must appear in 9-point Arial or Helvetica and must include complete postal and electronic addresses for all authors as shown above.  The Body of the document must be in 10-point Times New Roman throughout.  Section Headings must be in 10-point bold Arial or Helvetica. Use mixed case fonts for title and all subheadings.  Use all CAPS for section headings 
 
2.2 Layout
Set paper size to Letter (8.5" by 11"). Use 0.75 inch for left and right margins; use 1.0" for top and bottom margins. Use left justification throughout. Present the body of the article in two-column format, each 3.33", with a 0.34" separator.
 
2.3 References
All references used within the document and the description of citations must conform to the style currently used in the Communications of the ACM or similar publication.
 
2.4 General
Avoid the use of uncommon electronic features in documents such as special styles or automatic templates. Separate sentences with double spaces. Place paragraphs following headers in block style; subsequent paragraphs are to have the first line indented at 0.25".
 
 
3.  LENGTH
Articles considered for publication in inroads should not exceed three thousand words and should not exceed five pages including diagrams, tables, images, and other features.
 
 
4.  SUBMISSIONS
All submissions must be in electronic copy as described below.  Authors wishing to submit material for consideration in inroads must do so by electronic media sent to the Editor-in-Chief. The lead author must submit articles by email (with copies to co-authors where applicable) to <inroads@Hofstra.edu> or to <inroads@sigcse.org> as an attachment. The form of the article must be in the current version of MS Word or the current version of WordPerfect.
     For those using environments other than Word or WordPerfect, please make the required conversion before submission. No other electronic format will be accepted at this time. Electronic documents will be edited and converted to alternate formats and therefore, must be received as specified.  The copy should have the appearance of how authors would prefer their document to appear when it is in two-column style.
 
 
5.  DEADLINES
The Editor-in-Chief must receive all proposals before the following deadline dates:
  • 31 January for the June issue of inroads,
  • 31 July for the December issue of inroads.
The March and September issues of inroads are reserved for conference proceedings.
