SIGCSE 2011 Accommodations

To help conference attendees begin their travel planning, we are happy to provide the following information about the hotel which will have blocks of rooms available at special conference rates. And, as SIGCSE has done in the past, we will have a roommate matching website to help pair you with a roommate to reduce the cost of attending the symposium.

The conference hotel is Sheraton Dallas Hotel, 400 North Olive Street, Dallas, TX 75201. The group rate is $159 + tax. This rate includes free wireless access in hotel rooms in the Sheraton. When making your reservation, you may see that Wifi costs extra. Don't panic! As long as make your hotel reservation through this link, wireless internet access is included in your stay.

If you stay at the conference hotel, you'll be able to network easily with other conference attendees. It's a quick trip to get to the program and functions, and just as quick to zip back to your room for a break. Plus, we've negotiated for free Internet at the conference hotel and a significantly reduced room rate to stay in downtown Dallas. Overall, you'll have a much better conference experience if you stay at the conference hotel. Staying at the conference hotel also supports SIGCSE since we are required to pay for unused rooms in our reserved block which raises costs for future SIGCSE conferences. So make your conference experience a better one and help SIGCSE at the same time --- please reserve your room at the Sheraton Dallas.

(If you somehow obtain a better rate online than the one listed on our site, your stay will still be counted toward our required room block, but keep in mind that there are often restrictions and/or penalties associated with these rates. )

We recognize that many SIGCSE attendees work at schools with very limited, even nonexistent!, travel budgets. To help you reduce your cost to participate in the symposium, we are happy to once again provide assistance with roommate matching: The SIGCSE 2011 Roommate Database. Once registered, you can input your preferences and see other registrants who have compatible preferences. The rest is up to you!
